Thirty on a Camel
Nov 30th, 2008 by Mark
Many of you told us Jen should publish her writing. And many of you told me that I should publish my photography. The reality is we assumed everyone was being nice, until a handful of people we didn’t know, people who had no reason to be nice to us, started telling us the same thing.
So, we’ve been moonlighting for the past few months to put together a book — entitled Thirty on a Camel. While it has been a bit more work than we expected, the end result is starting to get both of us quite excited. Think of the blog as a well-intentioned, but slightly jumpy and disconnected first draft published under duress from cramped, sweaty internet cafés that billed in 10-minute increments. And think of the book as the polished, refined, maybe even sophisticated v2.0. Almost fifty stories, supplemented with the best of our photography. My grandmother is excited, which quite honestly, means you should be, too.
To those of you that have been commissioned for revising, graphic design, etc, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. And to those of you that offered encouraging words as we battled dysentery/etc in (insert country), allowing us to make it home in pretty darn good health, we thank you as well.
